Call for Proposals - NIH Faculty/REPS Research Grant 2026

We are pleased to announce that the UP Manila National Institutes of Health (NIH) is now accepting research proposals for funding under the NIH Faculty/ REPS Research Grant 2026.

The grant is open to all UP Manila regular faculty and researchers. Non-regular faculty/ researchers, and/ or trainees (i.e. resident or fellow in-training) who wish to avail of the grant must conduct the study as a co-investigator and request a regular faculty/researcher from the same service/ department/ academic unit to assume the role of the principal investigator.

A research grant of up to P500,000.00 each shall be given to deserving research projects to fund Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE). The proposals shall be evaluated based on relevance and scientific merit subject to appropriate ethical clearance.

 

The priority areas for research are based on the NUHRA 2023-2028, as follows:

  • Disease Management
  • Halal in Health
  • Health Security, Emergency, and Disaster Risk Management
  • Health Technology and Innovation
  • Health of Vulnerable Populations
  • Health Promotion
  • Health Systems Strengthening Towards UHC
  • Maternal, Newborn and Child Health
  • Mental Health
  • Nutrition and Food Security
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health
     

Research outputs from the successfully-funded projects should aim for publication in an ISI or peer-reviewed journal.
 

To apply for the grant, kindly submit electronic copies of the following requirements on or before 31 October 2025, until 11:59 PM:

  1. Word file and PDF of the full proposal (formatted according to the accompanying guideline), with a detailed Line-item Budget (MOOE only);
  2. Endorsement letter signed by the unit head/ institute director, department chair, and dean of the academic unit;
  3. Certificate of RGAO Registration (register your project at http://rgao.upm.edu.ph/registration/);
  4. UPMREB/IACUC/IBBC Certificate of Approval/ Exemption from review, or Acknowledgment Letter with panel assignment as proof of acceptance of the protocol for review
