Launching of Quezon City’s Hepatitis B and C Model Care

On August 20, 2025, the Quezon City Hepatitis B and C Model of Care was officially launched. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the Quezon City Local Government Unit (LGU) represented by Hon. Ma. Josefina “Joy” Belmonte, City Mayor and the Quezon City Health Office, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Manila.

The agreement formalizes a Patient-Centered Model of Care for Hepatitis B and C, aiming to improve access to integrated and holistic care for affected individuals.

UP Manila was represented by Dr. Marissa Alejandria, Executive Director of the National Institutes of Health, and Dr. Janus Ong, Team Leader of the Strengthening Integrated Treatment and Care for Hepatitis (StITCH) project and Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Research.
