2017 Asia-Pacific Conference on Social Sciences and Management

Second Call for the One U.P. Professorial Chair and Faculty Grant Awards: 8 August - 30 September 2016

A second call for application to the One U.P. Professorial Chair and Faculty Grant Awards is hereby announced to commence on 8 August 2016 (Monday) and end on 30 September 2016 (Friday).

The same guidelines used in the first call will be applied to the second call, as released with Memorandum No. PAEP 16-12: https://goo.gl/02dyJo. The work evaluated will still be the same period, from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2015. However, the award period will now be six months less, i.e., from 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2018.

New USAID STRIDE Advanced Research Scholarships

The Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) is the flagship science and technology program by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Philippines that will spur inclusive economic growth by boosting science and technology research.

STRIDE is now accepting applications from Filipino MS and doctoral candidates as well as MS and PhD degree holders from Philippine universities to conduct research under the supervision of a U.S. university professor for at least six (6) months up to a maximum of 12 months.

Newton Agham Programme: New Calls for Opportunity

The British Council and the Department of Science and Technology are pleased to announce current opportunities under the Newton Agham Programme. These are as follows:

  1. DOST-Newton PhD Scholarships

The aim of the Newton Agham PhD Programme is to facilitate the capacity building of individuals, and the building of sustainable, long-lasting links between UK and Philippine institutions, through the DOST-Newton PhD scholarships. The scholarships are for full-time PhD study in the UK from April 2017 until July 2020.

The Department of Science and Technology, in the hopes of attracting and retaining competent and committed personnel for the effective and efficient project implementation, has issued DOST Special Order No. 374 Series of 2016 “New Prescribed Salary Rates for DOST Grants-in-Aid (GIA) Personnel,” effective 01 July 2016.

Call for TDR International Postgraduate Scholarship for Academic Year 2015-2016

Body: 

The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia has been selected to host an international postgraduate training scheme for masters and PhD level students, providing full scholarship for up to 50 Master and 5 PhD students in the next four years (2015-2019). The grants are available to students from low- and middle-income countries of WHO South East Asia and West Pacific regions. The training will be focused on implementation research, which supports the identification of health system bottlenecks and approaches to address them.
