Maceda, Ebner Bon G.

Dr. Ebner Bon Maceda earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines Manila. He had his residency in Pediatrics at the Philippine General Hospital. Dr. Maceda became a fellow in Clinical and Metaboloc Genetics at the Philippne General Hospital. As part of the National Institutes of Health, he is involved in the conduct of research in clinical genetics particularly in rare diseases, birth defects, and newborn screening. Along with fellow physicians, he is included in the Philippine Sudden Unexplained Death Program (Philippine Bangungut Program), and is exploring the prevalence of transient congenital hypothyroidism among Filipino newborns. Some of his ongoing research include the Clinical, Biochemical, and Molecular Characteristics of Filipino patients with Tyrosinemia Type 1, a retrospective study on the predictive factors of transient congenital hypothyroidism, as well as a Content Analysis of Facebook Groups on Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.
