From the UP College of Medicine, the collection features medical documents, articles, and treatises from the Acta Medica Philippina publications. The collection here provides articles spanning from 1993 - 2001.

As the Philippines' health science center, UP Manila fulfills its role of improving the health of Filipinos by constantly ensuring the relevance and excellence of its academic programs, generating significant knowledge and technologies through its researches, and rendering varied forms of health, training and extension services to Filipino communities. The programs and services address the priority health concerns of Filipinos and are being undertaken through close partnership and collaboration with the government, policy makers, other health institutions and professional health groups.
The PNHRS mission is to create and sustain an enabling environment for health and health-related policies and actions. As part of the PNHRS, The Metro Manila Health Research Development Consortium exemplifies partnership among member institutions fostering an active sense of community towards strengthening and sustaining networking within Metro Manila and with other local and international partners.
In line with the Vision and Mission of the PNHRS, Regional Health Research and Development Consortia were organized in all regions of the country. The Consortia aim to link health research institutions together to complement and share resources for health R & D. At present, fifteen (15) regional consortia have been established and are currently operational. Vigorous efforts are currently underway towards re-organization of the MMHSC to assume the role of the National Capital Region - Health Research and Development Consortium (NCR-HRDC) with UP Manila as lead convenor.
