Dr. Josephine Aldaba earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas. She had her residency in Pediatrics at the Philippine General Hospital. She has been involved in the conduct of various clinical trials and advocacy programs on smoking cessation, tuberculosis control and early pediatric literacy development. She assisted in the development and implementation of several manuals on a smoking cessation program, field surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases (rotavirus and acute meningo-encephalitis syndrome), a health supervision guideline of children for general pediatricians, and risk preparedness and disaster impact assessment tool on health systems. As part of the National Institutes of Health, she is involved in research on various public health topics like tuberculosis, child abuse, immunization practices and vaccine-preventable diseases like Japanese encephalitis, rubella and dengue.
